The ESC Working Group on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy (ESC WG CVP) and ACNAP are happy to announce this joint course All About Clinical Trials Course taking place in Oslo, Norway, from 12 to 13 December 2024.
Course Objective
The aim of the AACT course 2024 is to help participants gaining insight into methodological issues regarding study design and trial conduction, as well as to provide the attendees with a solid basis for the interpretation of trial results. The course will also highlight newly proposed clinical trial methodologies as well as discussing regulatory requirements. The course contemplates highly interactive “workshop” sessions, which will allow the faculty and the attendees to explore in a practical fashion all aspects of trial design, planning and execution as well as gaining insight into the critical evaluation of trial results and data presented in scientific manuscripts.

This course is in collaboration with the REMEDY Center and the Norwegian Society of Cardiology.
This course will appeal to a general audience comprising healthcare professionals with a clinical or research interest in cardiovascular medicine, e.g. atrial fibrillation, heart failure, hypertension, peripheral vascular and cerebrovascular disease, coronary artery disease prevention and treatment, general cardiology, dyslipidaemia, diabetes, etc.
More specifically, the AACT will be of interest to individuals designing/planning or participating in clinical trials, those aiming to gain insight into statistical analysis and data interpretation. As the course will deal with trials on cardiovascular drug therapy, clinical cardiologists, clinical pharmacologists, and healthcare professionals in general with an interest in translational and clinical research methodologies will find the course to be of relevance for their practice. Students and trainees will also have an opportunity to improve their knowledge and clinical skills regarding clinical trial design, and data interpretation, as well as Good Clinical Practice.
