Biography
Isotta Chimenti is Associate Professor of Applied Medical Technologies, Team Leader in the Experimental Cardiovascular Pathology Lab, and Junior Fellow of the Superior School for Advanced Studies, at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. Her education includes a Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology, and a PhD in Experimental Medicine. She has been a postdoc fellow at Johns Hopkins University, Cedars Sinai Heart Institute, and Pasteur Institute – Cenci Bolognetti Foundation. Her research activity is focused on regenerative medicine, in particular on cardiac microenvironment and cardiac tissue engineering, oxidative and metabolic stress in the cardiovascular system. She is funded as PI by several Italian National grants, and key staff in a European Horizon 2020 project. She co-authored over 65 Scopus indexed publications.
