The case

Description

  • 23-year-old Afro-Caribbean football player underwent pre-participation cardiovascular screening.
  • He exercised for 12 hours per week.
  • He did not report any sinister cardiac symptoms.
  • He was not on any regular medications and there was no family history of premature sudden cardiac death or cardiomyopathy.
  • Clinical examination was normal.
