Dr. Guido Pieles is a childrens and adult congenital cardiologist with expertise in inherited cardiac conditions, advanced imaging and sports and exercise cardiology. He is the lead for Sports Cardiology at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH) London. After obtaining his medical degree at the University of Marburg/ Germany and a PhD at Oxford University in cardiovascular genetics he trained in childrens and adult congenital cardiology/ Inherited cardiac conditions/ echocardiography at the Bristol Heart Institute and the Hospital for Sick Children Toronto. He is part of the English FA sports cardiology expert group and consulting cardiologist at Manchester United FC. His research centres on the development of innovative methods to monitor cardiac performance in elite athletes and young people with inherited heart disease.
