Biography
Rafael Gonzalez-Manzanares is a cardiologist and clinical researcher with a special interest in heart failure, coronary artery disease, and cardio-oncology. He trained in medicine and cardiology at the University of Córdoba (Spain), holds a PhD in Biomedicine, and completed an MSc in Statistics at University College London (UK), with a focus on clinical research methodology. He is currently based at the Heart Failure and Transplant Unit of Reina Sofía University Hospital in Córdoba, and holds a physician-scientist Juan Rodés contract from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (Madrid, Spain). His research focuses on the most prevalent contemporary cardiovascular diseases, particularly heart failure and coronary artery disease, as well as on more vulnerable populations, such as patients affected by the cardiotoxic effects of cancer therapies
