Biography
Dr. Soo Yeon An, MD, PhD, is an Interventional Cardiology Consultant and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiology at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea. As an early-career physician-scientist, she integrates advanced clinical practice with translational basic science to address complex cardiovascular challenges. She is dedicated to addressing unmet clinical needs by investigating the dual-function (redox regulation and DNA repair) of the APE1/Ref-1 protein. Research expertise includes establishing genetically modified in vivo disease models and evaluating early cardiac function via high-resolution preclinical cardiac MRI to elucidate APE1/Ref-1 pathways in cardiovascular disease.
