Biography
Henrike Arfsten is a clinician-scientist whose career has been dedicated to advancing the field of heart failure through clinical work, translational research, the organization of several heart failure meetings, and sustained service to the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology. Dr. Arfsten is a board-certified cardiologist at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. She graduated with an M.D. from the Medical University of Vienna, obtained her Ph.D. in 2021, received an M.Sc. in Clinical Research in 2024, and holds a Venia Docendi in Internal Medicine. She is a nucleus member and Past Secretary (2018–2023) of the Austrian National Heart Failure Working Group and has contributed to multiple HFA committees, including the Committee on Diagnosis/Biomarkers, the Committee on Valvular Heart Disease, and the Certification Committee. Dr. Arfsten is currently Co-Chair of HFA Young.
