Biography
• Professor Claudio Borghi is Full Professor of Medicine and Head of the Department of Medicine and the ESH Excellence Center for Hypertension and Atherosclerosis at the University of Bologna. • Professor Borghi is member of the ESH and the ISH, Fellow of the ESC, a member of the Council for Clinical Cardiology of the AHA, and Past President of the Italian Society of Hypertension. • He is chairman of the Research, Science and Educational Committee of the ISH and member of the Council of the ESH. He is member of the Nucleus of the ESC Working Group on Pharmacotherapy and Pharmacology. • He sits in the editorial boards of several scientific journals (Hypertension, J Hypertension, BMC medicine, PlosOne, Scientific Review) and is member of the the board of reviewers of many other journals • Professor Borghi is authors or reviewer of the European Society of Cardiology guidelines, and has authored or co-authored over 750 peer-reviewed papers in hypertension, cardiovascular risk factors
