Biography
Mehrdad Golian, is an invasive electrophysiologist. He is currently the Director of Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Services and Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Clinic at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He also leads the Cardiac Device Extraction Program at UOHI. He previously served as Program Director of the Adult Cardiac Electrophysiology and Device Fellowship (2021–2025) and as Director of Quality (2020–2025) at UOHI. He holds a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety from Queen’s University.
His academic focus is on advancing patient safety and quality improvement in cardiovascular care. Clinically, he specializes in the management of complex arrhythmias, with expertise in advanced ablation techniques, complex cardiac device implantation, leadless devices, non-tranvenous ICDs, venoplasty and cardiac device extractions.
