Professor Elisa Anamaria Liehn

After completing her medical studies at the University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania, she pursued further specialization in cardiology and obtained a PhD in molecular cardiology at RWTH University in Aachen, Germany. In 2021, she was appointed as a professor of translational cardiology at the Institute for Molecular Medicine at the University of Southern Denmark. In 2024, she took on the role of adjunct professor at the doctoral school of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Additionally, she was appointed Head of the Vascular Theme at the National Heart Center in Singapore. Her research group concentrates on the intricate molecular and cellular interactions among the structural, functional, and mechanical components involved in vascular and myocardial remodeling during pathological processes. The ultimate goal is to devise innovative therapeutic strategies to promote vascular healing and to safeguard myocardial survival and heart function following myocardial infarction.
