Prof. Eike Nagel, is Head of the Institute of Cardiovascular Imaging at Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, a multimodality imaging research facility focussing on advanced imaging research of cardiovascular disease with magnetic resonance, computed tomography and echocardiography. He is Past President of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR), has a long- standing history of teaching and training and is one of the world leaders of the field with a prime interest in detection and quantification of myocardial ischaemia, fibrosis and inflammation and the connection of diagnosis and therapy. He has published over 350 CMR-related publications, authored numerous CMR clinical guidelines, and has pioneered on CMR clinical training accreditation programs. In his clinical job as Consultant Cardiologistand Consultant Radiologist at the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main, he offers state-of-the art cardiovascular imaging.
