Biography
Sonia Vicenty, MD is a cardiologist based in U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Miami VAHC) specializing in heart failure and transplantation. She completed her medical degree in 1998 at Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at VA Caribbean Healthcare System. Dr. Vicenty has contributed multiple publications covering topics such as cardiomyopathies (cardiac amyloidosis) pulmonary vein thrombosis, cardiac hepatoma, and myxedema coma, among others. In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about advancing our understanding of heart failure through research. I have been involved in several studies examining novel therapeutic interventions and the impact of lifestyle modifications on patients with heart failure. These experiences have reinforced my conviction in the importance of evidence-based practices and have motivated me to pursue additional research opportunities.
