Biography
Tamar Avedissian is an Assistant Professor at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. She earned her PhD in 2024, MSN in 2011 and BSN in 2004. Her research focuses on the growth and developmental outcomes of children with congenital heart disease (CHD), with particular attention to how parenting behaviors shape their physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being. Through this work, she aims to advance family-centered care and to inform tailored, evidence-based interventions that support the development of both children with CHD and their caregivers. Dr. Avedissian is currently the President of the Pediatric Nursing Association at the Order of Nurses in Lebanon. In addition to her academic and research roles, she has served as a consultant to the Ministry of Public Health and UNICEF, contributing to national initiatives aimed at improving pediatric health outcomes and strengthening child health services.
