Dr. Cavalcante graduated Medical School in Brazil in 2002 and finished internal medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowship in 2008 at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2015, he was awarded his PhD degree in Cardiology from the University of Sao Paulo. From 2015 to 2017, Dr. Cavalcante worked as a Post-doctoral research Fellow at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands under the mentorship of Prof. Patrick W. Serruys. After 12 years in Cardiology, Dr. Cavalcante joined Boston Scientific and currently serves as Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Interventional Cardiology division. Rafael is based out of Boston, MA in the US. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and spending time traveling with his wife Ticiana and two sons, Davi and Vitor.
