Doctor Irene Cattapan

Irene is a Pediatric Cardiologist at the University Hospital of Padova, Padova, Italy. Her main research interests are congenital heart disease and echocardiography. From June 2022 to June 2023, she completed a research fellowship at KU Leuven, Belgium, where she investigated the application of Shear Wave Elastography in patients with univentricular hearts palliated according to Fontan physiology. In September 2025, she obtained her PhD with a thesis entitled “Advanced Echocardiography in Paediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease: Impact on Diagnosis and Prognosis”.
