Biography
Joep studied Technical Medicine at the University of Technology in Delft, the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, and the Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden. Here he gained experience in the fields of radiology, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Interventions, Radiation Therapy, and Medical Imaging. During this time, he participated in OperationAIR, the student initiative to design and produce Intensive Care ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic. His graduation was at the Holland Proton Therapy Center (HollandPTC) where he did research to increase throughput and capacity using simulation-based predictive models. Currently, he is employed by Siemens-Healthineers to investigate the value of the novel MRI ablation Center in the Haga Hospital.
