Biography
Dr. Chiara Foglieni was trained as a biologist in cardiac electrophysiology and had a biotechnology post-graduate trainee, in 1991-1997 fellow at “Mario Negri” Scientific Institute ,then at IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute, where she is tenured researcher.
Her translational research focuses in atherothrombosis and cardiomyopathies. She studies the vessels, inflammation and platelet activation at molecular level. From 2006-2013 collaboration with the Università degli Studi di Milano, where she was lecturer in General Pathology, 2011-2021 with The Scripps Research Institute, studying tissue thrombogenicity, from 2025 with The University of Texas at Houston studying LVAD on heart failure.
Dr. Foglieni' laboratory optimized 2D/3D models for tissue/cell biology, techniques for histology, confocal/electron microscopy, biochemistry, molecular biology and ex-vivo imaging. Collaboration An agreement with PoliMi lead to a co-patented system and a startup, namely TTOP technologies S.r.l.
