Biography
Dr. Aristides Anastasakis, MD, PhD, is a consultant cardiologist specialized in Inherited and Rare Cardiovascular Diseases. He was trained in Athens and London. He holds a Degree in Medicine and his PhD thesis was in the field of cardiomyopathies. Since 1997, is dynamically involved in the area of inherited cardiovascular diseases (“Pheidippides” program 1997 – 2004, EKKAN 2004 – 2017) and now holds the position of Scientific Director in the Unit of Inherited and Rare Cardiovascular Diseases, Onassis Cardiac Surgery Centre. He has been a member of ESC Task Force in Sports Cardiology (2004 – 2008) and an elected nucleus member of ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases (2012 – 2016). Ηe represented Greece (2015 – 2017) in EUCERD (European Union Committee of Experts on Rare Diseases) and is an elected President (2018 – 2020) on Cardiomyopathy and Inherited cardiovascular diseases working group of the Hellenic Cardiac Society, as well as the President (2017 – 2021) of the
