Dr. Youngkeun Ahn graduated from CNUMS in Gwangju, Korea (1989). He has careers in Cardiology including a period working at Harvard Medical School. He heads the Cardiology and Regenerative Medicine facilities at CNUH and has played a key role in several Korean and regional medical and research societies. He served as the president of the CNUH (2020-2024). He had a role (Secretary General) in organising the APSTH in Korea (2020) and has also taken on leading roles (Chairmen and President) in the KSTH. He is current the president of KSIC. His research interests include clinical trials in acute coronary syndrome and basic studies of stem cell therapies (more than 1,100 published SCI papers including LANCET, JAMA, Circulation, JACC, EHJ) and he has been the recipient of multiple research awards in Korea. He has a role as Theme Committee Chair for Arterial Thromboembolism for ISTH 2024. He is a current Member (Medical Sciences) of the KAST and NAMOK.
