Professor Toshihiro Tsuruda

Toshihiro Tsuruda received his MD degree and PhD degree from Miyazaki Medical College, Miyazaki, Japan, in 1992 and 2000, respectively. From 2000 to 2003, he served as a research fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, United States. In 2007, he was appointed Assistant Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, Circulatory and Body Fluid Regulation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Miyazaki. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2018 and has served as Professor at the Department of Hemo-Vascular Advanced Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Miyazaki, since 2022. Dr. Tsuruda's primary research interests include: 1. The role of vasoactive peptides and cytokines in cardiovascular homeostasis. 2. The contributions of stromal cells to cardiovascular remodeling.
