Biography
Jim Stirrup is a Consultant Cardiologist and Head of Cardiology at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, UK. Special interests include cardiovascular CT, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), Society of Cardiovascular CT (SCCT) and European Society of Cardiology. He has sat on several national UK committees - the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging/CT Executive Committee [past Treasurer, Lead for Accreditation]; SCCT UK International Regional Committee; and the British Nuclear Cardiology Society Council [BSCI/BSCCT Representative]. He was awarded the the National Heart and Lung Institute Thesis Prize in 2014 for work on myocardial applications of cardiac CT. He is a co-author of the RCR (UK) Standards for CT Coronary Angiography, contributing author to the ESC Textbook of Cardiovascular Imaging and co-editor of the Oxford Specialist Handbook Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
