Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Stefano Quarta is a Post-Doc at the Institute of Clinical Physiology of the National Research Council in Italy. He holds a Master's Degree in Biology (merit mention) from the University of Salento in 2020 and he is waiting for PhD thesis defence in Molecular Biology from the University of Salento (Italy). His research interests are in the field of molecular mechanisms underlying adipose tissue dysregulation under inflammatory and insulin resistance conditions. He is exploring these links in adipose cell culture models and analyzing adipose human tissues including pericardial and epicardial adipose tissue. He is also involved in nutrigenomic projects aiming to characterize the effects of different nutraceuticals to discover new potential treatments for metabolic diseases. In 2019 he joined the MeDiWeB consortium with the aim of deepening the link between Mediterranean Diet adherence and global well-being.
