Biography
Dr. Tesfaye Telila, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is an interventional cardiologist at Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He is the Founder of INTIMA International, a social enterprise with pan-African ambitions to build sustainable healthcare ecosystems, and the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Heart Attack Ethiopia (HAE). Through HAE, he has led initiatives that have delivered more than 700 life-saving cardiovascular procedures across Ethiopia and established the country’s first fully accessible public STEMI system of care, ensuring timely treatment regardless of a patient’s financial circumstances. His clinical and academic interests include complex coronary intervention, intravascular imaging, structural heart disease and global cardiovascular health. Dr. Telila is passionate about strengthening cardiovascular care across Ethiopia and Africa through physician training, international collaboration, and social entrepreneurship. He speaks English, Amharic and Afaan Oromo.
