Biography
Estivalis Acosta Gutiérrez is a physician from Colombia. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Epidemiology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and is affiliated with the Hospital Universitario Nacional de Colombia and Fundación Cardioinfantil, Instituto de cardiologia. Her academic and professional interests focus on cardiovascular epidemiology, heart failure, point-of-care ultrasound, evidence synthesis, clinical research methodology, and evidence-based clinical standards. Her current research explores the prognostic value of residual congestion at hospital discharge in patients with acute heart failure, assessed through point-of-care ultrasound, including pulmonary and venous congestion markers. She has experience in systematic reviews, meta-analysis, observational study design, clinical guideline appraisal, evidence-based recommendations, and administrative database analysis.
