Biography
Dr Elgamal is Consultant in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) and Cardiac Imaging at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool, UK. She completed her medical degree as well as her Master’s and Doctorate at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. Her clinical and research interests focus on advanced cardiac imaging, heart failure in ACHD, and systemic RV. Dr Elgamal serves as an elected Board Member of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), where she is Chair of Web and Communication, Deputy Chair of CT Accreditation & Certification, and a member of the ESC Communication Committeey. She has previously contributed to multiple EACVI and ESC initiatives, including roles on the EACVI CMR Lab Accreditation Committee, the EACVI Excellence Awards Task Force, the EACVI Education Committee, and the ESC Membership Committee.
