Professor Nanette Hahr Bishopric

Nanette H. Bishopric, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.A.H.A., is Professor of Oncology at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and a practicing cardiologist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. She relocated to Georgetown in 2018 from the University of Miami, where she served as Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics and Pharmacology. Her research focuses on molecular effectors of the response to stress, and how stress affects cell death, growth and renewal. Dr. Bishopric is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and an inaugural Fellow of the American Heart Association. She was elected to the Association of University Cardiologists in 2014. Dr. Bishopric has served full terms on the MIM and CDD NIH Study Sections. She has served on the Editorial Boards of JACC, Circulation Research, JMCC and PloS One, and just completed 5 years as Associate Editor of JACC-Basic to Translational Sciences. When free, she enjoys singing, hiking, gardening and Tweeting.
