Biography
Dr Gary McGowan (MB BCH BAO MSc BSc) is a medical doctor in Ireland, currently completing his Basic Specialist Training (BST) in General Internal Medicine (GIM), with intent to pursue Higher Specialist Training (HST) in Cardiology. He studied Medicine (MB BCh BAO, 2023), Preventive Cardiology (MSc, 2025) at University of Galway / National Institute of Prevention & Cardiovascular Health (NIPC), and Physiotherapy (BSc, 2019) at University of Limerick, graduating with First Class Honours in all three degrees. His current areas of research include hypertension, dyslipidaemia, obesity and cardiovascular prevention. He has certifications in Personal Training & Nutrition, and is the Co-Owner of Triage Method (Est. 2016), an online personal training and health & fitness education company dedicated to evidence-based practice. Outside of healthcare, he is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) purple belt and general enthusiast of physical culture, hiking, mountaineering and the outdoors.
