Biography
Santo Dellegrottaglie, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist and Director of the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Unit and Sports Cardiology at Villa dei Fiori Hospital in Acerra, Naples. He trained in Cardiology at the University of Naples Federico II and in cardiovascular MRI and CT at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York (USA). He holds EACVI and SCMR Level III certification in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) and is Immediate Past Chair of the CMR Working Group of the Italian Society of Cardiology. His clinical and research interests include cardiomyopathies, heart failure, myocarditis, arrhythmogenic disease, pulmonary hypertension, myocardial tissue characterization, and the integration of CMR into patient-centred clinical pathways. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Dellegrottaglie likes to travel to explore new Countries and cultures and speaks Italian and English.
