Biography
Full Professor of Bioengineering, University of Trieste, Italy (since 2015) Formerly: Full Professor of Fluid mechanics (2006-2015), Associate professor (1998-2006), and Lecturer (1992-1998, University of Firenze). PhD in Hydrodynamics in 1992. Scientists at: Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NY (2012-2013), University of California Irvine (2011-2012), University of Cambridge (1998), Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (1994), University of California San Diego (1992). Active scientists in cardiac mechanics, with focus on cardiac fluid dynamics and the interaction between flow and tissues. Research grounded on physics and engineering and progressively extended into interpretative model applied to the clinical reality. Leadership in coordination of interdisciplinary scientific projects. Experienced in industrial collaboration integrating mechanics with medical imaging analysis and mathematical data manipulation to develop innovative technical tools for cardiovascular applications.
