Dr Philippe Meurin is a general cardiologist. He has been working in the cardiac rehabilitation center Les Grands Prés in the suburbs of Paris , France, for about 20 years. He also works part time as a consultant in a private medical office. Regarding clinical research, he has published about 50 articles in peer reviewed medical journals. In particular, he has been the principal investigator of 2 prospective multicenter randomized sudies focusing on post operative pericardial effusion, that he has presented in the Late Breaking Clinical Trials session of the 2009 AHA meeting (POPE1 study), and in the Hotline session of the 2014 ESC (POPE 2 study). His other fields of work are heart failure, heart and exercise, sleep apnea and antithrombotic therapy.
