Biography
Dr. Sionis is consultant cardiologist and director of the Acute and Intensive Cardiac Care Unit at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona. He is also professor of cardiology at the Universitat Autonoma of Barcelona. He is a former member of the ESC Education Committee (2018-2020 and 2020-2022) and of the ESC Council for Accreditation and Certification. He currently board member of the European Exam In Core Cardiology (EECC) and board member and secretary of the ESC Association for Acute Cardiovascular Care (ACVC). His research interests have largely focused on chest pain, acute heart failure, and critical care cardiology. Dr. Sionis has published more than 300 scientific articles and book chapters, mainly in the fields of cardiology, emergency medicine, and critical care
