Dr. Sionis is Consultant Cardiologist and Director of the Acute and Intensive Cardiac Care Unit at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona. He is also Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. He is a member of the ESC Education Committee, member of the Board of the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACCA) and Lead Certification Section of the ESC Council on Standards of Education and Accreditation. His research interests have largely focused on chest pain, acute heart failure, and critical care cardiology. Dr. Sionis has published more than 150 scientific articles and book chapters, mainly in the fields of cardiology, emergency medicine, and critical care
