Biography
I am an Associate Professor in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Leeds, UK. My research interests are focussed around the mechanisms and treatments of exercise intolerance in clinical conditions such as heart failure and diabetes, with a specific interest in muscle wasting and regeneration. I lead a translational research laboratory, integrating work between basic scientists and local clinicians at Leeds hospital to aid clinical translation. My training included working for 5 years at the the Leipzig Heart Center, Germany and my ongoing research is funded by the British Heart Foundation, Medical Research Council, Heart Research UK and Ministry of Defence.
