Doctor Dante Salvador

Dante is a physician, epidemiologist, and health economist from the Philippines. He is currently a PhD Research Fellow at the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine, University of Bern, Switzerland. Before starting his PhD, he was in the field of non-communicable disease prevention through health policy and financing. He also worked as a consultant in the national government agencies in Philippines and helped formulate strategies to realize Universal Health Coverage. He also contributed to a legislation by leading a team that modelled the health effects of different tax rates proposed in an alcohol tax bill -- now a law. Aside from medical studies, he also completed masters degrees in Public Management, Public Health, and Health Economics after working as a village doctor in one of the most underserved towns in Philippines.
