Giulio Zucchelli was born in Livorno (Italy), Mascagni and Modigliani birthplace, and graduated cum laude in Medicine at University of Pisa in 2000. He specialized cum laude in Cardiology in 2004 (University of Pisa) and achieved PhD in Pathophysiology and Clinic in Cardiovascular and respiratory diseases in 2008 (University of Pisa). He achieved EHRA certification in Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology (4th best score in 2008) and Cardiac Pacing and Defibrillator (2nd best score in 2008). His clinical work includes interventional electrophysiology and ablation (particularly AF and endo-epi VT ablation), lead extraction, leadless pacing, CRT, cardiac pacing, transvenous and subcutaneous ICD, and clinical electrophysiology. He's been working at Second Division of Cardiology, University Hospital of Pisa since 2009, where he is acting Director since Feb 2022. He's author or co-author of more than 100 publications (h-index 22, Scopus April 2024) and 7 books.
