Vital Houben wanted to become a medical doctor since the age of 7 years old. He has achieved his dream and started working as a medical doctor at the cardiology department of Zuyderland Medical Centre in the Netherlands in october 2018. During his studies Vital developed special interest in preventive medicine. He believes prevention is the future in modern medicine. During his time in Zuyderland he got the opportunity to start a PhD-track in cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention. At this moment he combines clinical work with this PhD aiming to optimise cardiac rehabilitation for all patients in his hospital.
