Biography
Dr. Allen, medical director of the UF Health Shands Emergency Department (ED) and the UF Health Chest Pain Center, earned his medical degree at the Florida State University College of Medicine. He completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Florida. After finishing his final residency year as chief resident, Dr. Allen was hired on as faculty in the ED as assistant medical director. His research efforts have focused on cardiac biomarkers, heart failure and acute coronary syndrome. He is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM).
