Miss Oddny Brattberg Gunnarsdottir

Harvard Medical School, Boston (United States of America)

Oddný is a fourth year medical student at the University of Iceland in Reykjavík. Icelandic medical students get three months of their third year in medical school to work on their research project which they then write a B.Sc. thesis about. Oddný got the opportunity to explore the genetics of end-stage dilated cardiomyopathy at Harvard Medical School under the guidance of Christine and Jonathan Seidman. This was a great experience and hopefully the start of further research. In the summertime Oddný works at the hospital in her hometown Akureyri and goes hitchhiking or cycling on her days off.
