Lucy is in the final year of her doctorate and is based at the Centre for Public Health Research at Massey University in New Zealand. She previously completed her bachelor of Biomedical Science specialising in molecular pathology and master of Clinical Immunology at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. After focusing her masters’ research on the use of breast arterial calcifications in cardiovascular risk assessment, she moved to Massey University to further expand her cardiovascular research. Lucy’s doctorate is investigating work-related risk factors for cardiovascular disease, both assessing cardiovascular risk factors by occupation and evaluating ischaemic heart disease risk for a range of occupations and occupational exposures. At the completion of her research she hopes to stay within public health, but would like to focus more on interventional and clinical application of cardiovascular epidemiology.
