Biography
Dr Straw is currently appointed as a NIHR Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds, and holds an honorary cardiology training post at the Bradford Royal Infirmary. He completed his PhD under the supervisor of Dr Klaus Witte and Dr John Gierula in 2023, during which he conducted a series of mechanistic studies investigations the effects of personalised heart rate management. His current research interests centre around delivering personalised care for patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, and for those with cardiac implantable electronic devices. Dr Straw is a competitive cyclist and recently completed the Mallorca 312.
