Dr Boris Delpire is an internal medicine resident at KU Leuven and a PhD fellow in Sports Cardiology under the supervision of Prof. Dr Guido Claessen and Prof. Dr Rik Willems. His research focuses on prolonged and repeated rhythm monitoring in athletes, aiming to improve the screening, diagnosis, and management of cardiac arrhythmias. By integrating advanced telemonitoring technologies, he evaluates and validates innovative devices to better quantify arrhythmia burden and improve detection.
Clinically, he is part of the sports cardiology teams at Jessa Hospital and UZ Leuven and contributes to major initiatives such as Pro@Heart, including the annual cardiovascular screening of elite and professional athletes.
