Doctor Laurent Yvan-Charvet

Laurent Yvan-Charvet is director of research of Molecular Medicine; Pathology & Cell Biology and director of the laboratory ‘Physiopathology of Cardiometabolic Diseases’ at the Department of Molecular Medicine of Nice University. He previously held an affiliation as Director of Innovative Medicine research with Pfizer Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases (CVMED). His laboratory has a longstanding interest in immunometabolism and the therapeutic potential in human diseases. Dr. Yvan-Charvet obtained his Ph.D. in Endocrinology in 2005 from Paris University, where he was trained on cardiometabolic complications. He enjoyed postdoctoral training in molecular medicine under the mentorship of Prof. Tall at Columbia University. His current research explores the nodes linking metabolism and inflammation (metaflammation) in chronic inflammatory diseases and is supported by ERC. His team participated to the creation of an University-Hospital Center aimed at facilitating translational research.
