Biography
Dr. Fátima Sánchez-Cabo holds a degree in Mathematics from the UCM in Spain and a PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Manchester. She has published more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals with over 20,000 citations and an h-index of 49. Her work focusses in the use of mathematical models and advanced statistical techniques, including AI algorithms, to enhance our understanding of the transition from health to cardiovascular disease through the integration of heterogeneous multi-omics, imaging, epidemiological and clinical data from large human cohorts. Using data-driven approaches she aims to shed light into the personalised path of this transition in different individuals using causal inference techniques. Finally, she works on explainable AI, to enhance the understanding of these methodologies to be applied securely and ethically in cardiovascular research.
