Ange Maguy is the head of “Atrial Fibrillation and Therapeutic Innovation” at the Department of
Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Bern, Switzerland. He graduated his PhD in
Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of Paris-Saclay and performed his post-doctoral
fellowship at the electrophysiology research program of Montreal Heart Institute. His translational
research focuses on deciphering the substrate of atrial fibrillation (patient samples, small to large
animal models) using state-of-the-art methods ranging from electrophysiological studies to
multiomics approaches. Unveiling key therapeutic avenues is a core driver of his research. He was
honored with the Pfizer Research Prize in 2021. In addition to teaching activities, he is an active
member of the nucleus of the ESC Working Group on Cellular Biology of the Heart and serves as
secretary to communication in the executive board of the GRRC (French Society of Cardiology).
