Dr. da Silva earned his medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela, where he received the Luis Razetti Graduation Award and multiple awards for his performance as founder/director of innovative scholarly projects. He was President of the Medical Student Scientific Society, Editor-in-Chief of their indexed journal, Vice President of the International Federation of Medical Students-Venezuela and Directive Board of the Latin-American Federation of Medical Student Scientific Societies. As a Resident of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, he earned the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society membership and The Arnold P. Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. He then became a Cardiology Fellow and Senior Lecturer at The Ochsner Clinic Foundation/Ochsner Clinical School and completed his fellowship of Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr. da Silva is an Associate Sr. Consultant at Mayo Clinic.
