Dr Gnecchi is Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Pavia, Italy where he teaches at the Schools of Medicine and Biotechnology. He is a faculty member of the PhD program in Translational Medicine and of the Fellowship Programs in Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Respiratory Disease. Dr Gnecchi is Director of the Molecular and Translational Cardiology Unit at the IRCCS San Matteo Hospital in Pavia, Italy. His translational research is mainly focused on discovery of molecular and cellular therapies for heart disease and on precision medicine. Dr. Gnecchi also does clinical research on acute myocardial infarction, secondary prevention in post-AMI, cardiac sudden death.
Dr Gnecchi is the Chair of the Cardiovascular Committee, 2021-23 regional Vice President Europe of the International Society of Cell Therapy, member of the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Basic Science of the European Society of Cardiology.
