Professor Stefan Frantz

Prof. Frantz is director of the Department of Internal Medicine I (cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, emergency internal medicine, intensive care medicine, pulmonology) at the university hospital of Würzburg. He is deputy speaker of the Comprehensive Heart Failure Center Würzburg, and deputy physician directors of the university hospital Würzburg. Since 2022 he is also speaker of the collaborative research center “Cardio-Immune-Interfaces” funded by the DFG. Prof. Frantz had his medical education in Würzburg and is board certified for Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine. From 2014-2017 he was chair of Internal Medicine/ Cardiology at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle/ Wittenberg. Main areas of research are heart failure, activation of the immune system after myocardial infarction/ role in healing/ remodeling after myocardial infarction, heart brain interaction.
