Biography
Dr Acevedo completed her Internal Medicine and Cardiology Residency and Fellowship at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Currently, she’s become a Full Professor at the same institution.
She completed a Clinical Scholarship in Preventive Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA from 1999 -2021
She has developed her career in clinical research in Preventive Cardiology and Women's Heart Disease over the years.
She has more than 150 peer-reviewed papers in National and International books and journals.
In 2021, she was invited by Dr Roxana Mehran to serve as a senior advisor to the The Lancet Women and Cardiovascular Disease Commission, as a representative of Latin America along with dr NorlBairey Merz and Angela Maas, from the US and Europe respectively.
In 2024 she was awarded the 2024 ACC International Service Award.
Her passion is Medicine, dividing her work between the University Hospital and Clinical Research.
