Doctor Iliyana Petrova

Dr Iliyana Petrova graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2005. In 2006 she was appointed assistant professor at the Clinical of Cardiology at the National Heart Hospital, Sofia. She was Board Certified as cardiologist in 2012 from the Medical University of Sofia and further licensed as interventional cardiologist in 2013. Dr. Petrova has more than 40 publications in national journals and a number of scientific papers at international congresses. In recent years, her research interests have focused on contrast-induced nephropathy and the use of new biomarkers for its diagnosis. She defended her PhD degree on this topic in 2020.
