Biography
Dr Damien Suhail is a final year senior resident in Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Heart Transplantation. He is dual accrediting in general cardiology and internal medicine with subspecialty interest in heart failure and devices. He is currently working at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, United Kingdom. Dr Suhail's long term goal is to bridge the gap between community hospitals and tertiary centres by creating a unified network multidisciplinary setup to enable pre-emptive clinical discussions and expediated referrals for patients with advanced heart failure. He conducts a range of practical procedures including diagnostic left coronary angiograms, right heart catheterisations, intercostal drains, central venous catheters, simple devices and endomyocardial biopsies. He is invested in medical education, teaching, statistics and clinical governance with emphasis on empowering junior colleagues and patients alike.
