Doctor David Filgueiras-Rama

Spanish National Centre for Cardiovascular Research, Madrid (Spain)

Member of:

European Heart Rythm Association

Dr. Filgueiras has a background in basic and clinical cardiac electrophysiology with expertise in research areas related to mechanisms of complex cardiac arrhythmias. His experience in the research field has been driven by the passion to move his clinical work further from a diagnostic and decision making point of view. He has special interest in new therapeutic alternatives and mapping technologies based on deep understanding of complex biological phenomena as cardiac fibrillation. Throughout his research career he has been aiming to develop new ideas to implement new technological developments and turn them into new clinical methods. The latter, requires the combination of different experimental skills and a multidisciplinary team, which he has implemented in the Advanced Development in Arrhythmia Mechanisms and Therapy Laboratory at the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC), working in close collaboration with the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid.
